What happens at a typical CTK Small Group?
Every group is unique, but most groups follow an outline like this
- Meet and greet (usually involves food!) - 15 minutes
- Bible discussion (using a study guide or just the Bible) - 30-45 minutes
- Prayer and sharing time (chance for people to be there for each other) 10-30 minutes
- Informal conversation as group wraps up and people head home - 15 minutes
How can I join an existing small group?
You can do this by any of the following methods:
(1) Ask about small group opportunities at a Worship Center. (Ask people you meet what group they attend!)
(2) Fill out our small group interest form. This will be forwarded to our small groups director.
(3) Contact our small groups director via email or phone.
How can I start a new small group?
Starting a new group has the advantages of providing more opportunities for more people, and letting a group of people “start fresh” together. You can take advantage of our Leader Training material available online, as well as Small Group Lesson Modules which can help you get started. A great way to start is to use the New Group Starter Kit.
Once you have decided to start a small group, be sure to add your new group to our "Find Us" tool. This registration allows others to know that they can be a part of it and alerts group directors and pastors to pray for you.
Building a team is a key to your success. Begin inviting people to join your group. Enlist others to host the group, or assist you in leading it. People are looking for places to connect and belong, and where they can grow spiritually.
And oh, by the way, you don't need to be a "super-Christian" to start a group. You just need the desire to grow in your faith and to meet with others who have the same desire!
Anyone can start a group - whether you're attached to an existing CTK worship center or not. In fact we believe as more people start small groups in their area, more CTK worship centers will spring up from those groups.
